The Squirrels And The Monkey

Once there where twin squirrels named Sparky and Rusty. There was also a monkey named Fred. Sparky and & Rusty had pogo sticks and always bragged, “Ha, we can do something you can’t. Ha Ha.”

Fred was so furious and as they say, monkey see monkey do, so Fred went and got a pogo stick and got back at the twins, “Ha! I got a pogo stick and I’m going to be better than you!” exclaimed Fred. Fred went home and practiced, practiced, practiced. In the meanwhile the twins where eating acorns and watching TV.

Sparky said, “We are soooooooooooo good we will have time tomorrow to practice.” But what if he gets better than us?” Rusty said worriedly. The next day, Fred went to the twins' tree and said with lots of confidence, “I demand a jump of right here right now.”

They all grabbed their pogo sticks and started jumping. Sparky, the stubborn squirrel, was the first to fall trying to show off and do a trick. “Ha!” said Fred. The worried twin, Rusty, fell shortly after his brother. Fred repeated himself, “Ha!” Fred finally quit jumping and went home after he got revenge.

I told you I would beat you and win with joy,” said Fred.

MORAL: Practice makes perfect.

REFLECTION:
A man would do nothing if he waited until he could do it so well that no one could find fault." - John Henry Newman.Practice makes perfect- this shows us that we should never give up on what we want to do even if from the start it's hard for you, you must strive hard if you want to be better.

The Dog and the Wolf

A gaunt Wolf was almost dead with hunger when he happened to
meet a House-dog who was passing by. "Ah, Cousin," said the Dog.
"I knew how it would be; your irregular life will soon be the ruin
of you. Why do you not work steadily as I do, and get your food
regularly given to you?"
"I would have no objection," said the Wolf, "if I could only
get a place."
"I will easily arrange that for you," said the Dog; "come with
me to my master and you shall share my work."
So the Wolf and the Dog went towards the town together. On
the way there the Wolf noticed that the hair on a certain part of
the Dog's neck was very much worn away, so he asked him how that
had come about.
"Oh, it is nothing," said the Dog. "That is only the place
where the collar is put on at night to keep me chained up; it
chafes a bit, but one soon gets used to it."
"Is that all?" said the Wolf. "Then good-bye to you, Master
Dog."

MORAL:
Better starve free than be a fat slave.

REFLECTION:
Some people tend to be a fat slave , because they thought that it's better than to starve without realizing that they are not free, and they can't do what the free people do ,they just rely on what they have except for freedom.

The Crow and the Raven

A CROW was jealous of the Raven, because he was considered a bird
of good omen and always attracted the attention of men, who noted
by his flight the good or evil course of future events. Seeing
some travelers approaching, the Crow flew up into a tree, and
perching herself on one of the branches, cawed as loudly as she
could. The travelers turned towards the sound and wondered what
it foreboded, when one of them said to his companion, "Let us
proceed on our journey, my friend, for it is only the caw of a
crow, and her cry, you know, is no omen."

MORAL: Those who assume a character which does not belong to them, only
make themselves ridiculous.

REFLECTION:
Many people try to pretend like someone they're not and they don't know that it's obvious for those people who knows them already, and it only shows that they can't accept who they are and what they can do.

The Dancing Monkeys

A PRINCE had some Monkeys trained to dance. Being naturally
great mimics of men's actions, they showed themselves most apt
pupils, and when arrayed in their rich clothes and masks, they
danced as well as any of the courtiers. The spectacle was often
repeated with great applause, till on one occasion a courtier,
bent on mischief, took from his pocket a handful of nuts and
threw them upon the stage. The Monkeys at the sight of the nuts
forgot their dancing and became (as indeed they were) Monkeys
instead of actors. Pulling off their masks and tearing their
robes, they fought with one another for the nuts. The dancing
spectacle thus came to an end amidst the laughter and ridicule of
the audience.

MORAL: Not everything you see is what it appears to be.

REFLECTION:
Not all of us is true to what you see in them, some people hide themselves through their mask , for each of us hides something. So this explains why some people don't believe in the saying- "to see is to believe" . For me everything is never as it seems sometimes things are meant to be hidden and meant to shown.

The Ant and the Dove

AN ANT went to the bank of a river to quench its thirst, and
being carried away by the rush of the stream, was on the point of
drowning. A Dove sitting on a tree overhanging the water plucked
a leaf and let it fall into the stream close to her. The Ant
climbed onto it and floated in safety to the bank. Shortly
afterwards a birdcatcher came and stood under the tree, and laid
his lime-twigs for the Dove, which sat in the branches. The Ant,
perceiving his design, stung him in the foot. In pain the
birdcatcher threw down the twigs, and the noise made the Dove
take wing.

MORAL:
One good turn deserves another

REFLECTION:
If each of us our good people we would all create a peaceful world, helping each other is a one a way to goodness. In this story if you do good to others they'll also do good to you , just like the golden rule- One should treat others as one would like others to treat oneself. Just like the dove and the ant they show their appreciation by helping each other.

The Mouse and the Lion

One day a mouse got trapped under the paw of a lion. The mouse pleaded for its life. Being generous by nature, the lion set it free. The mouse promised to help the lion if it got the chance. The lion laughed at this. After all how could a tiny mouse help the king of the jungle?

A few days later, the mouse was passing through the jungle when it saw the same lion trapped in a hunter’s net. At once it set to work, gnawing at the ropes. Very soon the tiny mouse had set the lion free.

MORAL: Anyone can help, their characteristics do not matter

REFLECTION:
All of us have differences especially on appearance and attitude, there is also a popular saying "don't judge a book by it's cover" well it's true, you can't just judge somebody if you just shortly met him\her , like a book you don't know the true story if won't read it. So don't judge quickly you must know what that person can do before you belittle him\her.

Two Roosters and an Eagle

There were once two roosters that fought over a hen. The one that won the fight left with the hen, while the one that lost hid in the bushes. The rooster that won jumped on top of a wall and crowed with pride. Just then an eagle swooped down and snatched up the proud little rooster but the one who had hid in the bushes was safe from the eagle.

MORAL:
The humble are rewarded but the proud are punished.

REFLECTION:
As they say "God resist the proud but gives grace to the humble, it's a really good thought Humble people must be rewarded that those who are proud, I think there is a prize for those who are so proud , God resist them but when you are good and humble God will be with you and you will receive graces from him because you are humble and you know how to set your limits.

The Fox and the Crow

A crow was sitting on a branch of a tree with a piece of cheese in her beak when a Fox observed her and set his wits to work to discover some way of getting the cheese.

"Coming and standing under the tree he looked up and said, 'What a noble bird I see above me! Her beauty is without equal, the hue of her plumage exquisite. If only her voice is as sweet as her looks are fair, she ought without doubt to be Queen of the Birds.

"The Crow was hugely flattered by this, and just to show the Fox that she could sing she gave a loud caw. Down came the cheese and the Fox, snatching it up, said, 'You have a voice, madam, I see: what you want is wits.

MORAL: Do not trust flatters

REFLECTION:
Simple sweet words can flatter somebody even if it's not true. And sometimes the person who is saying these words are making it realistic and they're trying to show how they really adore you but you it depends on what they are after you. Before you believe i think you must make sure that it's true. In this story i realized that you can't just trust words you must know what the person means and what is he\she is after.

The Monkey and the Camel

The beasts of the forest gave a splendid entertainment at which the Monkey stood up and danced. Having vastly delighted the assembly, he sat down amidst universal applause. The Camel, envious of the praises bestowed on the Monkey and desiring to divert to himself the favor of the guests, proposed to stand up in his turn and dance for their amusement. He moved about in so utterly ridiculous a manner that the Beasts, in a fit of indignation, set upon him with clubs and drove him out of the assembly.

MORAL: It is silly to imitate our betters.

REFLECTION:
Sometimes people want to be known or popular to achieve this, they copy what the popular people do and act , and sometimes it works for them ,but one thing they don't know is that it's kind of funny and annoying and it can ruin their reputation as a good person.

The Lion, the Fox, and the Ass

The Lion, the Fox and the Ass entered into an agreement to assist each other in the chase. Having secured a large booty, the Lion on their return from the forest asked the Ass to allot his due portion to each of the three partners in the treaty. The Ass carefully divided the spoil into three equal shares and modestly requested the two others to make the first choice. The Lion, bursting out into a great rage, devoured the Ass. Then he requested the Fox to do him the favor to make a division. The Fox accumulated all that they had killed into one large heap and left to himself the smallest possible morsel. The Lion said, "Who has taught you, my very excellent fellow, the art of division? You are perfect to a fraction. He replied, "I learned it from the Ass, by witnessing his fate."

MORAL:

Happy is she who learns from the misfortunes of others

REFLECTION:

We all experience misfortunes,it is a part of lives that we learn from our mistakes and from the mistakes of others. Sometimes we do things base on what we see and experience, we use our common sense to do what is right and to decide on our own and on what we should do, so that's why when we see other people do things that hurt them, we do the opposite to not experience what those people feel which is not good.
